Hitachi Tools has developed the “α Super Radius Mill 3 Corners ASRT” (Fig.) with a more efficient cutting edge. The hollow portion called the Chip Pocket is optimally designed to increase the mounting wall thickness of the cutter insert. By these measures, the rigidity is improved, and even if the feed speed is increased, the workpiece can be stably cut.
The cutter head replaceable insert has a 3-corner shape and can be cut one by one using each corner. If the edge of one corner wears, the other corners will extend and replace the worn corners to continue cutting the workpiece. The main workpieces are large and medium-sized molds, auto parts and mechanical parts. The cutter head replaceable insert is also coated with a high-lubricity film "New JX Coating" for processing from soft non-ferrous metal materials to high hardness materials with a Rockwell hardness (HRC) of 60 and difficult to cut. Various materials for the material.
In terms of price, the product with a shank diameter of 50 to 100 mm is 50,000 to 135,200 yen, and the blade with a cutter head is 1,218 to 1,397 yen.
